This Friday is the 7th Annual Drive to Inspire Golf Challenge at Wood Hollow Golf Course in Longview. Get your team together and play for a great cause! Partners in Prevention Mentoring Program includes Forever Friends and Co-Pilots. Since 1996, PiP has envisioned a comunity in which every youth experiences nurturing, one-to-one relationships and community support. Through these relationships, mentors inspire young boys and girls for success in area school districts including Hallsville, Kilgore, Longview, Pine Tree and Spring Hill. Over 200 children are served yearly.
I am privileged to mentor a 13 year old girl and I have witnessed the need for and success of the mentoring program. The golf tournament Friday is the major fundraiser of the year. If you can’t play, perhaps you will consider a donation. Contact Johnny Medrano at 903-215-6525
Young people with mentors are less likely to begin using illegal drugs & alcohol, have fewer depressive symptoms, have better grades in school and have a better change of going on to higher education! A strong, healthy community starts with our youth, and they often need our help!
