The World of Bluegrass show airs Saturday from 9 am – 12 pm, with hosts Dave Rousseau and Julie Tucker. If you love Bluegrass music, then this is the show for you!
Dave Rousseau has been active in bluegrass music for years. He got into bluegrass radio in 1984 at Henderson, Texas, at KGRI, the same station Jim Reeves and Tom Perryman ran. The program was called The Texas Music Festival, and it continued until 2001, both on KGRI and on their sister station,
KWRD. One of Tom Perryman’s first acts at The Ranch in 2001 was to take a chance on broadcasting bluegrass — hence, the beginning of The World Of Bluegrass. The chance paid off, and the program
became popular. In 2008 he added Julie Tucker as co-host, and the show is now the most popular weekend program. Dave’s wife is Sherry, and they live in a log house deep in the woods of Rusk County. Every Saturday morning, he leaves early for Tyler and The Ranch, where he and Julie Tucker present yet another chapter in The World Of Bluegrass. Dave also works as MC at several East Texas bluegrass festivals, and in the fall at The Jerusalem Ridge Festival near Rosine, Kentucky, on the home place of Bill Monroe, sometimes being seen on the Cumberland Highlanders show on RFD-TV.

I was born & raised in Gladewater, Tx, before moving to the big city…..Longview, Tx, where I spent a 25 year career with Texas Eastman Operations, preceded by several years in the Banking and related Computer Operations field.
My interest in bluegrass music came with my introduction to my husband, Mike Tucker. In 1994 we formed the band East Mountain Bluegrass and have enjoyed playing bluegrass gospel music throughout Texas, Oklahoma & Louisiana ever since. If you’re in bluegrass, it won’t be long before you meet Dave Rousseau, the walking/talking/bluegrass historian and co-host of The World of Bluegrass. One afternoon while sitting on a picnic bench at a bluegrass festival visiting, I said “Hey Dave, I’d like to come watch you some time at the radio station. I bet what you do is really interesting.” And the rest as they say “is history.” I appreciate the opportunity that Dave, The Ranch and Mr. Perryman have given me, especially since I’ve not had any prior radio experience or training.
