When Your A/C Dies

So there I was, minding my own business watching Big Bang, and I kinda notice it’s a bit stuffy in the den. So I use my handy dandy phone app and turn down the A/C. I could hear it running, so no biggie. A half hour later, I’m getting warmer, and not in a cool way. So I get up, see that all the correct buttons are lit. I check the breaker box and all look fine. Then I get outside, and the big unit is just. . . there.  Staring back at me as if to say, “I’m tired.” Meanwhile, the temperature in my house in 84. I call my repair guy and leave a message, and KNOW it’s gonna be a lonnnnng night. When you’re in this situation, you prepare, you know? For example, you take a shower, because that cools you down. You turn on the A/C fan, because the unit might be frozen and that sometimes help. Most of all, you get ready for no sleep because you’re sweating. A lot. Surprisingly, I woke up this morning feeling refreshed and comfy, and then realized that my handy dandy app automatically activated the A/C in the middle of the night, and it popped on, greeting my tired body with a cool room. False alarm? Anomaly? Don’t care. I’m getting this thing serviced today! East Texas summers cannot be survived without A/C. Here’s hoping your cooling systems keep you cool the rest of this hot spell!
