It seems we always want what we currently don’t have. Right now everyone just wants a little sunshine, right? Too much rain, right? How soon we sometimes forget that the next 3-4 months are usually parched in our corner of the Lone Star State. I remember a few years back when we were getting gully washers daily all throughout June, with the last storm hitting on Independence Day. Then, nothing. Nothing at all till mid-October, with unbelievable heat and humidity. This year the National Weather Service predicts more rainfall in our area than most other parts of Texas, but even that will be sparse. So get ready, East Texas, for miserable heat indices and the elevated sour moods that go along with them. Just remember that this too shall pass, and college football starts in just 82 days!
