Man sets Guinness record for balancing a running lawnmower on his chin

Here’s something you definitely shouldn’t try at home. A Guinness World Records enthusiast has proven he’s a cut above the rest by balancing a lawn mower on his chin for 3 minutes, 52 seconds in Idaho on Saturday.

While it was running.

David Rush said in a video posted by Guinness that he spent three years and three months preparing before attempting the stunt at the ESPN Road to the X Games event in Boise.

A Guinness World Records adjudicator was on hand to verify Rush had surpassed the previous record of 3 minutes, 1 second.  Meaning yes, someone had actually tried it before he did.

A couple things, though.  One — it was an electric lawnmower.  And two — the blade was turning so slowly, the grass itself would have time to move out of the way if it saw the mower coming.

Rush has broken more than 100 Guinness records in his efforts to promote STEM education, which stands for stands for science, technology, engineering and mathematics. His other records include holding 100 lit candles in his mouth at once, the longest duration balancing a bicycle on the chin, the fastest mile traveled balancing a pool cue on a finger, and the most socks removed in one minute while blindfolded.
